Gaussian mirrors

Jan. 1, 1997
Laser mirrors with Gaussian reflectivity are made using dielectric coatings. Mirrors are designed for use with Nd:YAG lasers operating at 1064 nm. The mirrors are particularly suitable for lasers with high gain and unstable resonators. The laser beams emitted from systems equipped with these mirrors have reduced divergence compared to systems with conventional mirrors.
