Birefringent crystal

May 1, 1997
A birefringent crystal for polarizing optics from the UV to the IR, a-BBO features transmission from 200 nm to 3.5 mm, with more than 93% transmission at 351 nm. The crystal is particularly suited to use in Glan laser prisms and Glan Taylor prisms. The crystals and polarizers have damage thresholds of more than 500 mW/cm2 at 355 nm.
