A line of sapphire focusing lenses that are AR-coated are available for use in Er:YAG medical-laser systems. The lenses provide 98.5% transmittance, with reflection of no more than 0.25% per surface at 2.94 µm. Focal lengths are available from 25 to 60 mm at 633 nm. The sapphire lenses are available in 12.7- to 50.8-mm diameters with 3-mm-thick edges.
