Hampton Controls moves into the optics market
Electronic-components and control-systems manufacturer Hampton Controls Inc. (Wendel, PA) has branched out into optical fabrication with the formation of a new optics division. According to spokesman Paul J. Nacin, Hampton will focus on custom optics, including astronomical optics and aspheres. Over the past year, the company has been acquiring equipment and bringing its facility
on-line; recent installations include a polishing machine for optics greater than 1 m in diameter.
