CO2 laser optics

Feb. 1, 1996
Focusing lenses and mirrors for use in carbon dioxide laser systems are available in zinc selenide, germanium, and silicon with plano-convex, biconvex, and meniscus surfaces. Focal lengths range from 10 to 1000 mm, and outer diameters range from 10 to 75 mm. Antireflection or reflective coatings are available. The lenses and mirrors show 40/20 scratch/dig tolerances with 1/10 to 1/40 wave surface figure at CO2 laser wavelength.
