II-VI subsidiary nets $1.6 million for infrared optics development

The Singapore Economic Development Board has awarded optics manufacturer II-VI (Saxonburg, PA) subsidiary II-VI Singapore Private Ltd. (Singapore) a $1.6 million grant for infrared small-optics development as part of the board`s new Innovation Development Scheme program. II-VI Singapore will use the funding to establish a low-cost, small-optics fabrication facility, improve its thin-films coating technology, and increase its presence in the global market. The optics are used in CO2 laser systems
