Polarization analyzer

Jan. 1, 1998
An instrument measures polarization effects from optical components as well as determines the polarization mode dispersion (PMD) in installed fibers. The PAT 9000 from German company Profile Optische Systeme is based on a Pentium-class PC running Windows. The polarization mode dispersion measurements can be determined using three different measurement methods. All common external-cavity lasers can be used for the PMD measurement.
