Demand for laser materials and components will grow at an average annual rate of 10.9% over the next five years, according to a new study by Business Communications Co. (Norwalk, CT). The USA dominates the market, currently accounting for half the world`s sales of $782.7 million. The study also reports that diode-laser components will register the fastest growth, with a rate of 15.1%, followed by laser equipment (9.1%) and optical components (9%). Demand for laser materials and components will grow at an average annual rate of 10.9% over the next five years, according to a new study by Business Communications Co. (Norwalk, CT). The USA dominates the market, currently accounting for half the world`s sales of $782.7 million. The study also reports that diode-laser components will register the fastest growth, with a rate of 15.1%, followed by laser equipment (9.1%) and optical components (9%). Laser materials are expected to grow at an 8.7% rate, and laser instruments are expected to be the slowest gainer, at a respectable 7.1%.
