Vancouver, Washington, June 14, 2004--Merrill Apter has joined semiconductor-laser manufacturer nLight as vice president of sales and marketing. Apter brings to nLight more than 15 years of experience in the high-power diode-laser marketplace.

Vancouver, Washington, June 14, 2004--Merrill Apter has joined semiconductor-laser manufacturer nLight as vice president of sales and marketing. Apter brings to nLight more than 15 years of experience in the high-power diode-laser marketplace.

Prior to joining nLight, Apter served as Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Coherent Inc. in the Semiconductor Business Unit, where he drove dramatic growth in revenue. Prior to Coherent, Apter served in several management roles at Spectra Physics Semiconductor Lasers (previously known as Opto Power Corporation),where he held a wide range of roles encompassing both sales and technical management. Apter's career in the semiconductor diode laser industry began at The Ensign-Bickford Aerospace Company in 1987.
