Munich, Germany–Continuing the seemingly endless stream of upbeat financial news in photonics, specialist manufacturer of solutions for light measurement, Instrument Systems GmbH, has closed its fiscal year with "the best results since the company was founded in 1986." The company has benefitted from the currently strong markets for lighting and LEDs.In its release the company reported that revenues rose by 47.1% to €10.3 million ($13.5 million)--up from €7.0 million ($9.1 million) in the 2008/2009 fiscal.“We are proud of this record result and the outstanding work carried out by our employees,” stated company founder and president Richard Distl. He added that the key driver for the enormous growth was the sustained boom in the LED industry, which was due in particular to LED backlight units in LCD TV sets and the increasing use of LED technology in general illumination. The company's equipment is widely used in the automotive and aviation industries for testing lighting components and displays in the vehicle interior or cockpit. Key applications are LED and display measurement, as well as spectroradiometry and photometry.Distl also expects the other markets served by Instrument Systems to outperform average increases. “We want to continue our growth trajectory in the current business year and are planning to double sales to approximately €20 million ($26 million). We are dedicated to living up to the trust customers place in our work,” he said. For more information visit www.instrumentsystems.dePosted by Steve AndersonFollow us on TwitterSubscribe now to Laser Focus World magazine; It’s free!
