IPG Photonics announces 5th International Symposium on High-Power Fiber Lasers and Their Applications

Fiber-laser maker IPG Photonics Corporation (Oxford, MA) will host the 5th International Symposium on High-Power Fiber Lasers and Their Applications.

Fiber-laser maker IPG Photonics Corporation (Oxford, MA) will host the 5th International Symposium on High-Power Fiber Lasers and Their Applications. The symposium, organized by IPG Photonics, will be chaired by IPG founder, chairman, and CEO Valentin Gapontsev. The event will be held June 28 to July 1, 2010 in St. Petersburg, Russia, in conjunction with the 14th International Conference on Laser Optics, the largest forum in the field of laser sciences in Russia and Eastern Europe.

Key topics of the symposium include high-power fiber lasers and delivery for material-processing applications, high-energy fiber lasers, cutting and welding with kilowatt-level fiber lasers, and sintering and powder deposition. The symposium will feature more than 50 speakers, a plenary talk by Valentin Gapontsev, and a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the laser.
