The new Mamba Green from Coherent is a frequency-doubled, diode-pumped solid-state laser that offers an exceptional combination of high output power, outstanding reliability, and low cost of ownership for a wide range of materials processing tasks. The laser delivers over 325 W of output at 532 nm (at 10 kHz), yet its integrated doubling crystal shifter and field-replaceable gain modules provide an expected operating lifetime of over 25,000 hours. It enables high process throughput and flexibility through the use of Pulse OnDemand; this feature stabilizes laser output characteristics in both single-shot and burst-mode operation, and also includes first-pulse equalization, making it possible to utilize every pulse produced by the laser. It is the ideal laser source for a number of industrial and scientific applications, such as surface texturing, cutting, drilling, marking and engraving of metals, such as steel and aluminum.

High Power Industrial Green Laser Offers Reliability and Economy

The new MambaTM Green from Coherent Inc. (Santa Clara, CA) (Nasdaq: COHR) is a frequency doubled, diode-pumped solid-state laser that offers an exceptional combination of high output power, outstanding reliability and low cost of ownership for a wide range of materials processing tasks. Specifically, the Mamba Green delivers over 325 Watts of output at 532 nm (at 10 kHz), yet its integrated doubling crystal shifter and field replaceable gain modules provide an expected operating lifetime of over 25,000 hours. Furthermore, the Mamba Green enables high process throughput and flexibility through the use of Pulse OnDemand; this feature stabilizes laser output characteristics in both single shot and burst mode operation, and also includes first pulse equalization making it possible to utilize every pulse produced by the laser.

The Mamba Green is the ideal laser source for a number of industrial and scientific applications. Examples include surface texturing, cutting, drilling, marking and engraving of metals, such as steel and aluminum, where the Mamba Green provides exceptionally high throughput (for example, 1000 holes/min of 0.25 mm diameter on 800 µm thick aluminum). The laser is also useful for a variety of semiconductor processing tasks, including low temperature polysilicon (LTPS) recrystallization for display manufacture, dopant activation in the fabrication of IGBT semiconductors and CMOS devices, and annealing for CMOS sensors. The Mamba Green can even be used for pumping Ti:Sapphire amplifiers, where it offers higher power and higher repetition rate output than any other high-performance green laser.

Founded in 1966, Coherent, Inc. is a Russell 2000 Index company and a world leader in providing laser-based solutions to the commercial and scientific research markets.
