Lumics has introduced a 300 W laser based on individual, hermetically sealed, single-emitter diode technology. Its sealed housing and small footprint are designed to work in an integrated system or machine for applications such as heavy-duty industrial welding, soldering, or cutting. The overall design is fiber-based with no free-space optics. Besides the benefit of the ultralong diode lifetime, no epoxy-glued elements can degrade the laser performance. The laser is actively cooled by tap water. The output fiber is 800 µm and is terminated by a high-power connector.

    PRESS RELEASE

    Competitive High Power Laser

The 300W laser is based on individual, hermetically sealed diodes, single emitter technology. These diodes are carefully packed in an industrial sealed housing on a small footprint to work in an integrated system or machine. The overall design is fiber based; no free space optics is used in the laser. Besides the benefit of the ultra-long diode lifetime, no epoxy-glued elements can degrade the laser performance.

The laser is actively cooled by tap water, no micro channels (DI-water) are necessary. Red pilot beam, monitor diodes and thermistors provide all necessary process feedback info. The output fiber is 800µm and is terminated by a high power connector. This robust and reliable laser head is designed to provide flexibility for various industrial tasks. Due to the architecture, another benefit is a very competitive price for OEM quantities.

Lumics GmbH in Berlin produces laser diodes (single and multimode) and systems based on single emitter technology.
