The picolo MAGNA laser system provides maximum pulse energy of 1000 mJ at a 500 ps pulse width. The lamp-pumped version generates gigawatt peak powers with up to 20 Hz repetition rate; the DPSS versions offer up to 200 Hz repetition rates. Applications include light detection and ranging (lidar), time-resolved spectroscopy, or nonlinear optics.
