Visotek and Bookham team to introduce 350 W pump block

February 5, 2008, Livonia, MI and Zurich, Switzerland--Visotek, a manufacturer of fiber-coupled high-power diode laser systems, special optics, and laser production services, has selected Bookham as laser diode supplier for its "Ultra-High Brightness" single-emitter based pump block. The fiber-coupled laser system delivers 350 W from a 200 µm fiber at 0.2 NA and was shown on the Bookham stand at the recent SPIE Photonics West conference.

February 5, 2008, Livonia, MI and Zurich, Switzerland--Visotek, a manufacturer of fiber-coupled high-power diode laser systems, special optics, and laser production services, has selected Bookham as laser diode supplier for its "Ultra-High Brightness" single-emitter based pump block. The fiber-coupled laser system delivers 350 W from a 200 µm fiber at 0.2 NA and was shown on the Bookham stand at the recent SPIE Photonics West conference.

The fiber-coupled laser system incorporates the latest generation of the Bookham high power single-emitter laser diodes capable of in excess of 10 W operational light output power. The optical design of the pump block was developed by the U.S.-based Fraunhofer Center for Laser Technology.
