David Black joins Coherent Semiconductor as North American sales manager

Coherent, Inc., Semiconductor Div. (CSD; Santa Clara, CA), has named David Black North American Sales Manager. Black began his new position August 27, 2001.

Black comes to Coherent from Continuum where he was employed for over 19 years. His last position was director of scientific sales and marketing for North America, in charge of managing Continuum's scientific and commercial laser products. Black is also a member of the Optical Society of America and SPIE.

In his new position, Black manages the tactical day-to-day activities as well as overall planning, forecasting, and direct sales for Coherent's North American diode laser business.
