II-VI Inc. Names Ireland VP Sales and Marketing

Saxonburg, PA, July 25, 2003. II_VI has added Robert Ireland as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the IR optics business unit. This new position will afford him the opportunity to use his experience and technical expertise to support our customers worldwide in the CO2 laser optics industry.

Saxonburg, PA, July 25, 2003. II_VI has added Robert Ireland as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the IR optics business unit. This new position will afford him the opportunity to use his experience and technical expertise to support our customers worldwide in the CO2 laser optics industry. At the same time, Ireland's addition reaffirms II-VI's commitment to provide our customers with the high quality products, technical support and customer service they've come to know and trust for the past 30 years.

Ireland has over 14 years of experience in the optics and photonics industry. Prior to joining II-VI, he managed the Optical Design and Measurements Center for Corning. His most recent assignment involved leading a group of scientists, engineers and technicians in developing products, and test/measurement concepts and technologies for optical telecommunications devices.

Ireland began his career in the optics industry as an optical engineer for Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, New York. During his tenure at Eastman Kodak Company he led several successful technical and marketing efforts while serving customers of several different optical products. He later led businesses at Donnelly Optics Corporation and Burleigh Instruments Incorporated.

Ireland earned his MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He also holds an M.S. in Optics from the University of Rochester and an A.B. in Physics from The College of the Holy Cross.
