Hollis, NH., March 5, 2003. JPSA Laser announces plans for the company's growth-driven expansion, the result of increasing demands for its products and contract services. JPSA Laser operates a high-performance UV laser job shop as well as a systems engineering and manufacturing business.

In making the announcement, Jeffrey P. Sercel, President, stated, "Increased orders for laser systems and services require that JPSA expand its facilities and personnel in order to meet this growing demand, while at the same time maintaining and improving levels of excellence in customer service and support."

According to Sercel, JPSA facilities expansion will take place Q1 2003 as a multi-phase plan that will immediately double existing floor space to 12,500 square feet and then later increase to 20,000 square feet. New floor space will include an enlarged laser job shop located within a medical grade clean room, an increased systems production floor engineering area, office space for expanded engineering, sales, marketing and administrative staff, and a new cafeteria.

Two new laser systems will be located within the new clean room; an excimer laser system and a new short pulse deep UV DPSS laser. Other equipment will include microscopes, inspection systems and assorted support equipment. JPSA products and services include UV excimer and DPSS laser micro machining systems, UV and VUV laser beam delivery systems, UV laser materials processing development, optical damage testing, and excimer laser refurbishment services.

"Last year's economic slowdown saw our services business increase as our capital equipment business stagnated" Sercel says. "We attributed this trend to customers moving forward with projects, but holding off on equipment purchases. We are now seeing an increase in systems orders and at the same time we are adding new laser systems for our processing services. We simply need more room. With more systems orders to fill and more laser systems to set up and run, we need more qualified people. With more people we need more office and personnel facilities."
