Michigan photonics cluster Mi-Light names new executive director

Mi-Light, the Michigan photonics industry cluster, has continued its growth by hiring Diane Durance as executive Director of the organization.

Mi-Light (Ann Arbor, MI), the Michigan photonics industry cluster, has continued its growth by hiring Diane Durance as Executive Director of the organization. Her main duties will include marketing communications, managing membership and Board of Directors meetings, recruiting new members and sponsors, and co-chairing multiple working groups. She started in her position at Mi-Light at the beginning of February and also continues to serve in a part-time capacity as the president of MiQuest and on the Board of Directors for New Enterprise Forum and the MTec SmartZone.

“I’m very excited to be working with the photonics companies in Michigan. It’s a growing industry and an important part of our state’s technology sector,” stated Durance. “I know the photonics industry will continue to thrive as these companies work together to develop new technologies and locate suppliers and customers in our state and around the world."

In addition to having been the president of the Ann Arbor IT Zone and executive director of Great Lakes Entrepreneur’s Quest, she has been a successful entrepreneur with businesses in three different industries,” says Michelle Stock, Mi-Light’s Board Chairperson. “With the addition of Diane, we are now able to give more attention to supporting our members and growing Mi-Light. We are very excited to have her as part of our organization.”
