The use of deuterium ensures reliable very-high-voltage operation with moderate pulse repetition rates. A custom anode allows u¥to 40% reverse current flow. The two-stage LS-3229 switches u¥to 45 kV when operated in air or u¥to 70 kV when insulated. The peak current rating is 15 kA. The device can be mounted in any position by its cathode mounting flange and is part of an extensive line of thyratrons designed for laser applications.
