Diode-laser collimator
A compact diode-laser collimator consists of two crossed gradient-index cylindrical microlenses with diameters of 60 and 300 µm. The collimation assembly is mounted in a 1-mm-thick plate, which can be mounted within the can of regular diode lasers. Divergence of a 3-W test beam from a 635-nm diode laser resulted in a focal length of 41.1 µm and divergence of 1.4°.
