DFB laser module

A 1550-nm distributed-feedback (DFB) laser module is available with 15-mW output power. Applications include high-speed SONET and CATV transmission up to 10 Gbyte. The butterfly package contains a hermetically sealed diode laser, a thermoelectric cooler for temperature stabilization, and a photodiode to monitor optical output. The internally matched 25-W laser module includes a polarization-maintaining fiber pigtail for compatibility with external modulators.
