The Compact Laser Diode System (CLDS) is a fully functional fiber- coupled laser system that operates from a simple dc power supply. The diode laser is fiber-coupled to control ellipticity, astigmatism, and divergence. The CLDS also benefits from fiberoptic remote delivery, stable pointing, and beam circularity. The system can replace HeNe lasers in some applications.
