A narrow-linewidth tunable laser system, the Finesse, can be used for laser-induced fluorescence studies, remote sensing, and lidar, or high-resolution spectroscopy. The single-longitudinal-mode optical parametric oscillator can be injection-seeded by a SLM laser, including an external-cavity diode laser. The cavity length is automatically adjusted by a computer-controlled PZT. The OPO`s output at the signal can be as much as 35 mJ at wavelengths from 608 to 624 nm, the idler output can be 20 mJ

A narrow-linewidth tunable laser system, the Finesse, can be used for laser-induced fluorescence studies, remote sensing, and lidar, or high-resolution spectroscopy. The single-longitudinal-mode optical parametric oscillator can be injection-seeded by a SLM laser, including an external-cavity diode laser. The cavity length is automatically adjusted by a computer-controlled PZT. The OPO`s output at the signal can be as much as 35 mJ at wavelengths from 608 to 624 nm, the idler output can be 20 mJ at wavelengths from 822 to 852 nm, and UV output (obtained by frequency mixing the signal with the residual pum¥energy from a 355-nm laser) can be 8 mJ at wavelengths from 224 to 226 nm.
