Thin-film polarizer

May 1, 1996
A thin-film polarizer etalon, the Eta-UBB, offers a wide bandwidth. The etalon is part of the company`s line of optics for use with ultrafast lasers. Two polarizers are used at an angle of about 74° and show an increase in the bandwidth of a regenerative amplifier of more than 200% over one using a standard etalon. Multiple etalon pairs can be used in a laser cavity, allowing laser designers flexibility in shaping pulses.
