A complete laser diode to fiber delivery system is housed in a compact, pen size housing. The delivery system can be battery operated or powered by an optional ac to dc converter. The fiber output end is terminated with a commercially available connector or with a collimating lens. Delivery systems are available for diode wavelengths from 635 to 1550 nm, and for single-, multimode, or polarization-maintaining fibers.
