Jetcam, Mitsubishi Electric enter partnership to boost laser cutting system data

July 10, 2018
With the partnership, Jetcam will develop enhanced support for Mitsubishi's range of CNC laser cutting machines.

CAD/CAM software developer Jetcam International (Monaco) and laser cutting system maker Mitsubishi Electric (Tokyo, Japan) have signed a developer agreement for LA-Module, which is made from Mitsubishi's LA CAM software as an engine of the company's laser cutting system knowledge, optimizing numerical control (NC) data for Mitsubishi's CNC lasers and providing extremely accurate runtime estimation.

With this, Jetcam will develop enhanced support for Mitsubishi's range of CNC laser cutting machines, and they have already developed integration with Mitsubishi’s LA-Module to allow for easy selection of Mitsubishi cutting condition files. Jetcam has postprocessors that can either generate NC data and interface with the LA-Module—both can retrieve condition file data and other machine parameter information.

Using Jetcam's total automation coupled with Mitsubishi's speed and quality will allow companies to significantly reduce the time to generate NC code while ensuring accurate runtime estimation information for cost purposes, explains Martin Bailey, general manager at Jetcam International.
