Laser cutting machine maker Bystronic acquires majority interest in Antil
To serve growing customer demands in the field of automation even more comprehensively in the future, metal laser cutting solutions supplier Bystronic (Niederönz, Switzerland) is acquiring 70% of the shares of automated sheet metal processing specialist Antil (San Giuliano Milanese, Italy). This majority shareholding in Antil will enable Bystronic to expand its existing range of technologies and services in the field of automation. With Antil, Bystronic can now offer complementary solutions for the loading and unloading of cutting systems, corresponding storage systems, and services.

Since 1989, Antil has specialized in developing automation solutions for the sheet metal processing industry, including loading and unloading systems for laser cutting and punching machines, automated sheet metal storage systems, robot-assisted bending solutions, and customer services. With approximately 110 employees, the company's technologies and services are systematically oriented toward the requirements of its sheet metal processing customers. In 2017, the company achieved a turnover of approximately 18 million euros.
With this majority interest, Antil is becoming an integral part of the Bystronic Group as a Member of Bystronic. Within this framework, the Antil brand will be maintained. The responsibility for the executive management of Antil will remain with the previous co-owner of the company, Agostino Zanella. The company headquarters in San Giuliano Milanese and the employees there will also be retained under Bystronic's majority shareholding.
In addition to its headquarters in Niederönz, Bystronic has three development and production locations in Gotha, Germany; Tianjin, China; and Shenzhen, China, and is actively represented by its sales and service subsidiaries in more than 30 countries and has agents in numerous other countries. Since 1994, the company has been a part of the Swiss industrial holding company Conzzeta. In 2017, with more than 2400 employees, Bystronic achieved a revenue of 774 million euros.
