On June 21, 2018, Rofin-Sinar UK China (Shanghai, China) opened a new office in the Shanghai Free Trade Demonstration Zone.

On June 21, 2018, Rofin-Sinar UK China (Shanghai, China) opened a new office in the Shanghai Free Trade Demonstration Zone. Baldwin Ding, managing director of Rofin-Sinar UK China, together with Jianyong Wei, technical support manager and Scott Yao, sales and service order processing supervisor, will be responsible for sealed carbon-dioxide (CO2) laser sources, high-speed CO2 laser marking systems, marketing, and technical support in China. Christian Zimmer of Construction Management Resource (CMR; Hamburg, Germany), owners of Rofin-Sinar UK, spoke at the opening ceremony.

Rofin-Sinar UK (Kingston Upon Hull, England) was established in 1998 to develop and manufacture sealed CO2 lasers in the 1 kW range. The company now manufactures a wide range of sealed CO2 lasers and power supplies for industrial processing and marking applications. The systems are sold and distributed through the company's worldwide sales, service organizations, and sub-distributors. Its lasers are employed in a broad spectrum of industries, including textile, automotive, and packaging, and in a wide variety of applications involving cutting, drilling, welding, and marking of plastics, metal, fabrics, and ceramics.
