AWL-Techniek opens new branch in the US

July 6, 2017
AWL has rented a 3500 m2 factory in Spartanburg, SC, with enough expansion possibilities to handle future growth.

AWL (Harderwijk, Netherlands) is rapidly developing to meet the growing demands of its customers. In 2013, the laser welding company entered China and at the end of 2016 to Mexico.

Now, AWL is about to expand into the US—an interesting market for the company because of the presence of its most important customers and the growing automotive industry.

Construction of the first machines will commence in the US immediately after the summer of 2017. The company has rented a 3500 m2 factory in Spartanburg, SC, with enough expansion possibilities to handle future growth. In the coming months, the company will focus on expanding the team and furnishing the premises—Per Blohm has been appointed as Business Unit Manager America.

The new US branch's intention is to become a full-fledged, independent branch in which all disciplines will be represented, including engineering and assembly. The expectation is that at the end of 2018, AWL America will have more than 50 staff.
