• Strengthening operations and continuing global expansion, SPI Lasers appoints new CEO

    SPI Lasers has appointed its CTO Mark Greenwood to be the CEO, effective January 1, 2018.

    SPI Lasers (Southampton, England) has appointed its CTO, Mark Greenwood, to be the CEO effective January 1, 2018, succeeding Thomas Fehn, who is moving to take up a position at SPI parent company TRUMPF. He will report to Christian Schmitz, TRUMPF's CEO for laser technology and Member of the Managing Board.

    Greenwood has a long track record in the laser industry, gaining over 20 years in developing lasers for a wide range of applications and industries. He held CEO roles with Spectron Laser Systems and GSI Group, as well as senior technical roles at the company and group level within GSI. He joined SPI Lasers in 2015 as part of the JK Lasers acquisition—since then, he has successfully led the integration of the R&D teams, ensuring maximal leverage of the combined technical organization.
