Metal laser cutting and welding provider Tie Down acquires MaxQ Technology

The cutting and welding provider will assume all production manufacturing responsibilities for MaxQ Technology. 

Looking to improve upon its production capacity and facilitate further technological developments in its metalworking capabilities, Tie Down (Atlanta, GA) has acquired MaxQ Technology (Tempe, AZ), which develops friction stir-welded coldplates and cooling products for power conversion systems rated up to 2MW in capacity.

With over 750,000 sq. ft. of ISO9001-certified production floor space, 5500 finished products, and 90 patents, Tie Down offers computer numercial control (CNC) machining, laser cutting, welding, sheet metal, and assembly capabilities. The company will assume all production manufacturing responsibilities for MaxQ Technology while providing technical support to continuously improve the fabrication processes.

MaxQ Technology's customers include the International Space Station, military defense research, autonomous and next-generation electric vehicle manufacturers, and tier-one suppliers in military, solar, wind, ocean, fossil fuel, and industrial applications.
