Alderman Tooling invests in new fiber laser cutter to boost productivity

Metal fabricator Alderman Tooling has invested in a fiber laser cutter that is expected to triple its capacity for laser cutting.

Metal fabricator Alderman Tooling (Plymouth, Devon, England) has invested in an additional CNC laser machine, which is expected to triple the company's capacity for laser cutting.

The company's new Amada LCG (4kW) fiber laser cutting machine, with ASLUL automated tower, will allow it to cut mild steel sheet up to 22mm thick. With automatic loading and unloading of materials, it also enables a 170m/min feed rate for reduced lead times and cost-effective manufacturing.

Adding the fiber laser cutter is a part of the company's long-term investment plan, which includes pursuing new business in sectors such as construction, according to Karen Friendship, Alderman's managing director.
