In efforts to boost its business, All Metals Fabrication (AMF; Ogden, UT) has purchased a Fabrigear II 220 tube laser cutter from Mazak Optonics (Elgin, IL), which features a 4K watt power cell, to allow the company to handle heavy wall pieces of tube, pipe channel, beam, angle, and custom extrusion.

The system's tapered laser torch allows for the laser cutting head to get into tight corners, and can process tubing and sizes up to 8in. in diameter and 6in. square—along with heavy wall thicknesses. AMF's tube laser can also handle 24in.-long material both in and out of the machine.

In addition to the synchronized chuck clamping system, the laser offers a full five-axis head that allows the machine to cut around unique shapes, sizes, and extrusions.
