August 28, 2007--Presented by Directed Light and WJM Technologies, this two-day course is designed for engineers to get a broad understanding of laser technology and includes classroom instruction and lab demonstrations.
The classroom segment includes an introduction to the basics of light and some of its unique properties followed by a discussion on how laser light is created and transported to the workpiece. Participants then study the interaction of lasers with a variety of materials to understand the fundamentals of lasers and welding and micromachining. The classroom session will be combined with lab demonstrations of laser welding, laser cutting, and laser marking.
