East Hartford, Conn. – The organizers of the Symposium on Advance Laser Applications (SALA) announced, at the close of the April 14-15 event, that the series will continue next year, based on the strong support of the attendees, a record attendance this year, and the exhibitors who filled all the available exhibit sites. CCAT (Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology) officials congratulated the sponsors, exhibitors, and attendees who made this annual event a success.

The two-day technical sessions were highlighted by presentations on the latest in additive manufacturing and paint stripping, two laser applications that show promise of becoming major contributors to laser growth in the coming years.

Exhibitors especially praised the unlimited access they had to attendees, enabled by the extensive networking schedule that afforded ample time for interaction. Singled out for praise was the first evening reception, which was an excellent opportunity for potential users to meet equipment suppliers in an atmosphere made convivial by the ample and excellent social services provided.

Capping off the technical sessions was a well attended Open House at CCAT, which saw record attendance of attendees anxious to witness five advanced laser processing systems in action.

CCAT advised attendees that the 6th convening of this series will be held in April 2011.
