Veldhoven, The Netherlands – Technology company IAI Industrial Systems B.V. has entered into an agreement with the technology developing company PreLaTec GmbH, Stuttgart, Germany, for production and marketing of laser drilling systems for drilling of nozzle holes in motor diesel injection systems.

Veldhoven, The Netherlands – Technology company IAI Industrial Systems B.V., a subsidiary of the stock listed company DOCDATA N.V. in Waalwijk, The Netherlands, has entered into an agreement with the technology developing company PreLaTec GmbH, Stuttgart, Germany, for production and marketing of laser drilling systems to enable drilling of nozzle holes for diesel injection systems in motors for the private car mass market.

The technology has been developed at the Friedrich-Schiller-University, Jena, Germany, in several years of cooperation with diesel injection systems manufacturers and motor development companies and enables the drilling of nozzle holes with extensive free hole geometry. By application of this technology, improvements in motor, environment, and consumption characteristics in a broad power range of diesel motors can be expected. Next to purpose-made optical components, a powerful high-tech single line laser is used that was originally developed on IAI's initiative for the application of security features in banknotes.

IAI expects that with this innovative laser drilling system, a new and lasting market segment for the coming years can be entered and exploited. IAI will market the laser drilling systems and the related maintenance under its own name and responsibility. Orders for pilot equipment are expected already in the running year.

Being a leading equipment supplier to the Security Printing market, IAI industrial systems also supplies systems for securing and/or personalization of ID-cards, driver licenses, banknotes, diplomas and other security documents. IAI's systems are in use in many countries. Technology company IAI industrial systems also offers laser processing systems for producers of solar cells or modules.
