Minneapolis, Minn. – Productivity Inc., a leading machine tool distributor serving the upper Midwest, is now the exclusive U.S. distributor of Swiss Tec laser micromachining systems. Swiss Tec machines are high-end laser cutting machines, primarily focused on fine tube and sheet cutting with fiber laser, picosecond and femtosecond laser beam delivery. Machines are engineered and manufactured in Switzerland and Austria.

In addition to sales, Productivity Inc. is Swiss Tec's USA Technical Center for applications, service and parts support. According to Pete Nelson, productivity’s manager of U.S. distribution for Swiss Tec, “Laser micromachining has come full circle in the last few years.” He adds that “fiber laser, as well as picosecond and femtosecond lasers can cut extremely fast with little or no heat affected zone. This is state-of-the-art technology and has significant advantages over CO2 and YAG lasers, especially in the manufacture of parts from tubing like end effectors and stents.”

Productivity Inc. has been a leading distributor of machine tools and tooling accessories, based in Plymouth, Minnesota, since 1968. Productivity Inc. specializes in automation operations and is a FANUC authorized robotic integrator, a leading provider of intelligent robot solutions. As a single source machine tool supplier, Productivity will also help sell old equipment through its online auctions on machinesused.com.
