East Hartford, Conn. – The Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology (CCAT) is pleased to announce that the 6th Annual Symposium for Advanced Laser Applications (SALA) will be held in Hartford, Conn., on April 13 to 14, 2011. This two-day conference and exhibition is the Northeast’s premiere laser conference focusing on end-user and manufacturing applications.

Presentations at SALA 2011 will cover a wide range of applied laser technologies being used by manufacturers worldwide. Topics include fiber laser drilling, laser hole shaping, laser welding, hybrid welding, laser surface modifications, coating removal, optical systems for laser processing, and process control. Speakers are nominated by a supplier committee and represent technology at the forefront of the industrial laser systems industry.

In addition to the technical presentations, SALA 2011 is expected to have 40 tabletop displays by laser vendors, optics suppliers, support equipment, laser systems, and small & medium manufacturers. At the conclusion of the conference, all attendees will be invited to tour CCAT’s world-class Laser Applications Laboratory located at CCAT’s Advanced Manufacturing Center.

“SALA continues to bridge the gap between laser technology development and implementation,” commented Elliot A. Ginsberg, president and CEO of CCAT. “I am confident that SALA 2011 will again showcase the incredible accomplishments and unlimited potential of the laser industry.”

Industrial Laser Solutions (ILS) is the exclusive Media Sponsor for SALA 2011 and will promote this series of outstanding events where end-user applications for industrial laser material processing are featured.

Registration will include the entire two-day program, continental breakfast and lunch (both days), and the Opening Night Reception.

This is a non-ITAR international conference with speakers and participants from the U.S. and abroad.

Visit CCAT's SALA for complete registration information.
