Laser safety officer training program on Nov. 16 to 18

East Hartford, Conn. – The Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology Inc. (CCAT) will be hosting a Laser Safety Officer Training program at the CCAT Innovation Center located in East Hartford, which is being presented by the LaserVision Academy, on November 16-18, 2010. 

East Hartford, Conn. – The Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology Inc. (CCAT) will be hosting a Laser Safety Officer Training program at the CCAT Innovation Center located in East Hartford, which is being presented by the LaserVision Academy, on November 16-18, 2010.

This training program was developed for individuals using or working with lasers in manufacturing, research, or educational settings and who have been assigned the role of Laser Safety Officer (LSO).

Upon completion of the course, each attendee will be able to develop a laser safety program and understand laser terminology, hazard evaluation, and control measures. Furthermore, attendees will learn the laser laws, regulations, and requirements of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH).

The LSO course is $795.00 per attendee, which includes a complete set of LSO course notes, a copy of the ANSI "Safe Use of Lasers" standard, a LaserVision Basic Safety Guide, laser safety program, resource forms and documentation, a certificate of completion, and a complementary LaserVision laser safety eyewear of your choice.
