Pratt & Whitney, FAA, Penn State, White House to share IP ideas at NeTEC 2010

Windsor, Conn. – NeTEC, the Northeast Technology Exchange Conference, will feature major aerospace and defense organizations discussing opportunities to do business with them on November 1 at the Hartford/Windsor Marriott Airport in Windsor, Conn. NeTEC 2010 is a fast moving, energetic conference focused on new technologies and tech needs for the aerospace and defense sector and is hosted by the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology Inc. (CCAT).

The conference will also feature a roundtable discussion, chaired by Ginger Lew, senior counselor to the White House National Economic Council and SBA Administrator, on "Accelerating the Velocity of Technology Transfer." Another special guest will be Congressman John B. Larson who will talk about "Addressing High Tech Job Growth."

NeTEC is the Northeast's premiere conference focused on aerospace and defense technology transfer. It is where hidden technologies with great commercial potential will be unveiled to entrepreneurs and investors with the goal of making deals and creating new businesses.

Presenters from top universities, national labs, and major OEMs will be showcasing the technology and intellectual property that they have available for sale and licensing. Entrepreneurs, small business owners, economic development organizations, lenders, investors, and other resource providers will all be in attendance and exhibiting.

By combining owners of technology, entrepreneurs interested in acquiring technology, and capital investors, as well as government policy resources, deals can be made and potential business can emerge.

Entrepreneurship is the backbone of the American economy. Over 80 percent of all new jobs are created by small businesses. The technology that many universities, federal labs, and large scale companies possess could be the basis for the next great business.
