ULO Optics acquires shares of Umicore Laser Optics

    February 1--ULO Optics, the new name for Umicore Laser Optics, announces its formation as an independent company supplying lenses, mirrors, partial reflectors, and beam delivery equipment for a range of CO2 laser applications.

    February 1--ULO Optics, the new name for Umicore Laser Optics, has announced its formation as an independent company. In business for 25 years, the company specializes in the manufacture of high grade CO2 laser optics and beam delivery equipment. ULO Optics operates from its modern manufacturing facility in Stevenage, U.K. It will continue providing customer service in low- to high-power CO2 laser applications.

    "I was attracted by the potential for ULO Optics to grow profitably in IR markets worldwide," said John Barton, the new managing director.
