New electro-optics company formed in Oregon

December 12--Spectrum Detector will design and manufacture both standard and custom radiometric detectors, electronics, and instruments based on both thermal and photon detector technology.

December 12--Don Dooley, former founder of Scientific Spectrum and Molectron Detector, has started a new company based in Oregon. Spectrum Detector Inc. will design and manufacture both standard and custom radiometric detectors, electronics, and instruments based on both thermal and photon detector technology.

Don is joined by Mark Stout, a former senior product engineer at Molectron, as a partial owner and manufacturing manager. Together they bring more than 50 years of experience in the design, manufacturing, and calibration of pyroelectric detector products to the company.

Spectrum Detector will introduce its first new products at the Photonics West Show in January 2007 in San Jose, CA.
