March 22--Laser cutting specialist Manufacturing Service Solutions (MSS) is going from strength to strength and has acheived an increase in revenue for 2005/6 of more than GBP 1 million. To match the growth, MSS has purchased its own 8000 ft2 factory and has doubled in size by expanding into a neighboring facility. The company has built a strong reputation in its client base for servicing all makes of laser cutting machines.

It now has more than 50 machines supported by one of its service contracts, making it the U.K.'s leading independent laser service provider.

Carlos Gonzalez-Lee, managing director, said, "We have highly qualified and experienced staff with a thorough knowledge of laser cutting, which enables us not only to work with all types of machine, but also provide a consultancy service to overcome specific manufacturing problems." MSS additionally supplies fully reconditioned laser cutting machines, sourced from across the U.K. and Europe.

Each machine undergoes careful refurbishment and an extensive quality appraisal.

As with service, the company can supply machines from all manufacturers, allowing customers to choose exactly the right one to suite their requirements, with the benefit of the machine-independent advice available from MSS.

With the aim of offering a complete service to its customers, the company has introduced the first U.K. demonstration facility for nitrogen generation equipment for laser cutting machinery.

Its nitrogen generators provide a continuous flow of high purity nitrogen from compressed air, which makes a significant saving in the cost of gas and ensures continuity of supply.

As well as machinery sales and service, MSS works in partnership with its customers to make investment affordable.

Gonzalez-Lee concluded, "Some of our customers have rented laser machines and nitrogen generators to overcome peaks in demand. This option gives them extra capacity at low risk with the option to buy once the requirements have become stable."
