March 1--Virtek Vision International today announced that is has entered into a renewable five-year agreement to supply Amada Grouop of Kanagawa, Japan, through its subsidiary MetalSoft Inc., with Virtek's LaserQC inspection technology on a private label basis.
Under terms of the agreement, which comes into effect March 1, 2006, Virtek will supply MetalSoft, on a non-exclusive private label basis, with the company's latest generation of LaserQC two-dimensional laser inspection systems. Amada will distribute Virtek's LaserQC technology under the FabriVision Laser brand in Asia and North America in place of Amada's camera-based inspection technology that was first developed in 1986. As a leading manufacturer of metal processing machines and technologies, MetalSoft-Amada has an installed base of more than 600 FabriVision camera-based inspection systems in operation in the metal fabrication industry worldwide.
Virtek estimates that the incremental revenue to be derived from this agreement during the inital five-year term will amount to more than $7 million with initial revenue accruing in the first quarter of the current fiscal year.
