Jenoptik receives two automation orders worth over $13.6M in North America
Prodomax Automation (Barrie, ON, Canada), a member of the Jenoptik Group (Jena, Germany), has been awarded two new orders that together amount to slightly above $13.6 million (over 12 million euros) in North America, underlining a strong order-entry start in 2019.
In mid-2018, Jenoptik acquired Prodomax, a specialized industrial engineering firm that focuses on machine integration and process automation in the automotive industry.
The first order is from a major Tier 1 automotive client for two of its manufacturing plants located in the southern U.S. The scope of supply includes several assembly lines incorporating material processing and material handling solutions. The second order is for an assembly project to be delivered and commissioned in mid-2019 for a production increase on a successful General Motors program.
Prodomax and the Jenoptik automation business (Rochester Hills, MI) have collaborated on engineering technical solutions for their combined customer base. The automation know-how of Prodomax and laser processing of Jenoptik facilitates end-to-end application solutions in the North American automotive market.
