Mazak to open laser focused technology center

Mazak Optonics Corp. announces Grand Opening events for the week of May 11, 2009 at the World's Largest Laser Focused Technology Center in Elgin, Illinois. Mazak has made this commitment to the North American manufacturing industry to help companies meet application development challenges and to educate the industry on the potential impact of emerging laser technology. In addition to the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, Grand Opening events on May 12 and 13, 2009 will center on the impact of technology on manufacturing costs and will include a presentation by Bob St Aubin, vice president, Mazak Optonics, on The Implementation of HyperLean Strategies to Improve Your Company's Economy. Grand Opening events will also include presentations by current users of Hyper Technology that will describe how they implemented the technology in their companies and the financial impact. There will be demonstrations of Mazak 2D and 3D equipment and the opportunity to discuss your applications with Mazak's technical staff. And for those looking for a deeper understanding of HyperLean manufacturing strategies, there will be a drawing for a FREE one week trip for 2 (double occupancy) to join a manufacturing study group to Japan.

The new $10-million, 50,000 square foot Mazak complex will include a two-story office building that will provide 20,000 square feet of administrative and training space and a 25,000-square-foot showroom with a 37-foot ceiling and a 20-ton crane that will allow the installation of up to 18 machines for demonstration and training, which more than doubles the company's current capabilities.
