Ultrafast fiber laser manufacturer receives award
Ultrafast fiber laser manufacturer Fianium has been awarded a coveted 2009 Queen's Award for Enterprise: International Trade for its outstanding growth and export achievements in the rapidly expanding laser technology market. The company has grown 70% year on year since its formation in 2003, with over 80% of this growth coming from territories outside the UK including mainland Europe, USA, and Asia.
Fianium founder and CEO Anatoly Grudinin commented: "Receiving this accolade is a well deserved reward for our talented team's hard work and dedication over the last six years. 70% year on year growth is a fantastic achievement and I firmly believe that based on existing customer demand and longer-term market potential we'll be able to maintain this for the next three to five years."
Since its formation Fianium has consistently met its goal of pushing the boundaries of ultrafast laser technology, providing advanced, compact, efficient, and maintenance free alternatives to incumbent gas and solid-state lasers. The next phase of Fianium's rapid growth is being driven by the exploitation of opportunities in industrial markets where Fianium's product portfolio offers users around the world a means to complete specific tasks quicker, better, and in a more cost effective way than existing laser solutions. Fianium is also active in pioneering the use of fiber lasers in new applications, displacing alternative technologies, and providing users with the ability to do new things.
The Queen's Award for Enterprise is given annually by Her Majesty the Queen. It is widely regarded as the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a British company and is the UK's top award for business performance.
