Large crowds and upbeat economic outlook dominate LASER China 2009 in Shanghai
Hosting over 22,000 visitors and featuring 220 exhibitors, LASER World of PHOTONICS China 2009 (March 17-19, 2009) illustrated the resilience of the laser industry despite the recent global economic downturn. The fourth year of the annual event, LASER China 2009 filled 9,000 square meters of the Shanghai New International Expo Center and continued to see strong support from leading laser industry manufacturers.
"The people we spoke with during the show consistently believed the economy would start showing a comeback by either the third or fourth quarter this year," said Glenn Golightly, Managing Director of Laser Mechanisms' Pacific Rim operations. "While we continued to see strong interest in our traditional, CO2 beam delivery products, the main interest during the show was in our next generation of AccuFiber processing heads for Fiber Lasers," added Golightly.
