A challenge from David Belforte

Dec. 4, 2009
Can you guess what David Belforte has chosen as the 10 most significant industrial laser applications of the first 50 years of the laser?

2010 marks the 50th anniversary of the laser. In the January/February issue of Industrial Laser Solutions, Editor-in-Chief David Belforte has selected what he considers the 10 most significant industrial laser applications of the first 50 years of the laser, using criteria that he established to cull out those that made a major impact (see his blog "Do you remember when...?"). Readers may have a different view, which he readily acknowledges.

You can try to guess what he chose by sending your 10 nominations to him, [email protected], before January 18, the date the January issue will be printed. The person whose selections exactly match his will win a $100 American Express gift card. If there are multiple winners a drawing will be held to select a prize winner. If no one matches his choices, the individual coming the closest will win; same rules apply on multiple winners. This is your chance to have some fun and to review what industrial lasers have accomplished in 50 years, and it can be rewarding financially. This contest is open to all, except employees and others directly associated with PennWell and Industrial Laser Solutions.
